Barclay James Harvestis a long-running British band specializing in majestic symphonic textures. They were often compared to The Moody Blues, and even jokingly wrote a song called "Poor Man's Moody Blues". The band was started in 1966 by John Lees(vocals, guitars), Les Holroyd( bass, guitars, keyboards, vocals), (vocals, keyboards) and (drums, percussion). They released their self-titled debut in 1970, and achieved a degree of success (in the UK at least) with their second album, Once Again, which featured the acoustic song "Mockingbird". Their subsequent albums garnered moderate success in the UK, and did even better on the European mainland, especially in Germany, where they played a concert for an estimated crowd of 250,000 in 1980.
